Filler injections are cosmetic treatment used to smooth scarred, wrinkled, or furrowed skin on the face. Some filler are also used to add fullness to the lips. When injected under the skin, filler raises or pups up that area. This usually goes away over time.
There are many kinds of injectable fillers including: Human Collagen, Hyaluronic Acid, Bovine Collagen, Human Collagenfrom Human tissue, Fat cells, Man-made biodegradable Polymer, Calcium Hydroxylapatite. Microscopic plastic beads and Bovine Collagen.
For some fillers, your skin will be numbed first by the use of Local Anesthetic. Then the Physician will use needle to inject the filler under the skin. A treatment session usually takes about 15 minutes. Some filler are done in repeat sessions a couple of weeks apart.
After a filler injection, the patient is expected to have pain, redness, swelling and possibly itching. Swelling may last up to 36 hours. Depending on the area being treated, the filler and your body’s reaction to the filler, you might have one or more repeat injections. |
